Some Christmas thoughts

Christmas present in a box with baublesThis post I thought I’d take a little break from sharing interesting links and just think back on the year; and what a year it has been! We’ve all had our own highlights and low points, but looking to 2017 we should all be excited about the opportunities it will bring – I certainly am.

In my blog posts this year I have talked a lot about listening, accountability and vision. Good leaders know how to listen effectively, be accountable and develop a clear vision of the future. But the really great leaders recognise their own limitations and are constantly striving to do better.

This can be tough – I know this through my own experiences. We all have our own unique personalities, internal drivers, strengths, and opportunities to get better. It is these qualities that help shape who we are as people and leaders and changing who we are is hard. But accepting that we will never be perfect, and striving towards being a better person and a better more engaging leaders is something that we should always be aiming to do.

At this time of the year we do need to take to time to thank those that have supported us throughout the year – people like our teams (like the team here at Full Circle Feedback), and our families. Without their support none of us could have achieved what we have. So do take the time to thank them and let them know they are appreciated.

And, finally, I’d like to thank you – the reader. I hope that you’ve gotten something from these blog posts (I certainly got something from writing them), and I look forward to continuing them next year.

Have a great holiday, and happy leading!
